Second Zoo Visit

We are so lucky to live so close to a free zoo! And, if you look hard enough for street meter parking, you end up paying a total of $1.00 for parking! Bring your own lunch and you've got a cheap, yet fun-filled day. We decided to go back to the zoo with the Schmidts as one last hurrah before I went back to school. I couldn't have asked for a better end to my vacation. The last picture is what happens when you ask an old man to take a picture with an SLR. They were HORRIBLE! I kept telling him to turn the camera to take a vertical picture, but I don't think he heard me. His grown daughter just stood there snickering. Oh well. It's a funny memory.

First Zoo Visit

We took Drew to the zoo today. He LOVED it, especially the monkeys. He jumped around and made monkey sounds and when it was time to leave, he screamed. We told him he could go and live with the monkeys if he really wanted to. ;)

Eli and Erik are Baptized

On Sunday Eli and Erik were baptized at North Park Covenant Church. I didn't get any pictures during the ceremony because I videotaped the service for Amanda, but I did get some cute pictures of the kids in their Swedish gear that Amanda brought from Sweden. It was tough to get them to sit still long enough to take a picture!

Jenn's Baby Shower

Jenn and Matt are expecting their baby boy in October, so we threw them a shower to shower them with gifts and love before Baby Myers joins us in October. In case you can't notice, it was a sports theme.

Buddies

Heidi and I made our way out to IKEA this morning with the boys. After lunch we headed back to the city to try to take the boys swimming, but to our surprise, the pool was closed for the season! So, off to the park we went instead.

Happy Birthday, Mackenzie!

MAckenzie celebrated her 3rd birthday with an rockin' pool party! The kids had blast splashing around in the pool. Of course, Drew made an early entrance into the pool, fully clothed! I wouldn't expect anything less.

Hot Chips, Anyone?

While visiting Laura and Vince, the neighbor kids decided to share with Drew. While I am all for sharing, I wasn't too happy to discover the items that were shared. Drew stood at the fence graciously accepting "hot chips" from another 2 year old and his sister. Obviously, he enjoyed them. Maybe a little too much.

Hanging Out with Vince

We got to spend some quality time with Vince and his mommy today! Drew was fascinated with Vince, especially the fact that he sucks his fingers. At one point, Drew kept pulling Vince's fingers out of his mouth, and vince would just put them right back in! Drew finally gave up after a while and started sucking his fingers! If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Afternoon with Amanda and Erik

Before Amanda and Henrik headed back to Sweden, we got together for one more visit. As soon as we got there, we found out that Ella had a fever, so she was quarantined to the upstairs. We missed her and Henrik, but we enjoyed the afternoon playing with the boys. We even went to the shade park next the Barilla's house so Drew could play with Faith and Brian!
