A Common Sight

These are just a few samples of a very common sight around our house. Due to the fact that we have two very large, lumbering dogs, we have come to love our gates. We especially love our gates because they function by stepping on a lever that releases the door--hands free! When you have your hands full, with a baby, for instance, it makes for an easy pass through. Highly recommended for anyone with babies or pets!

Ravinia

We went to see "Madame Butterfly" at Ravinia. We had a good time, except for the dirty looks people gave us for talking during the concert. Go to Ravinia and not talk? Crazy. Next time, we'll be sure to see Indigo Girls instead. Sorry to the couple in front of us! We didn't mean to make you pack up all your things to find a quieter spot!

Our Trip to NJ

We had a wonderful trip to NJ to visit my childhood friend Karin, her husband Brian, and their daughter, Abby. Drew and Abby had fun hanging out, and we had a good time catching up and watching our children playing. It was HOT when we were there, so we spent a lot of time just hanging out, going shopping, and going to the museum. Thanks for a good time!

No More Sleeping!

For a long time, Drew went to sleep very easily in his crib. Something happened, however, when we were in Iowa. He learned to crawl, and he mastered pulling himself up. Now, when we put him down in his crib, he doesn't stay "down." He now immediately pulls himself up and screams at the top of his lungs. This has been going on now for the past couple weeks and we are TIRED! Everyone says that a baby's sleep is interrupted when they reach significant milestones in their lives, and that it's just a phase. I hope it passes soon because I can't take much more!
