Michigan

We went up to MI to visit our good friends for the weekend who just bought a new house. It was such a wonderful trip. We got to leave the craziness of our lives behind in the city and head up to a small, relaxed city to just do NOTHING, except be with our friends. We sat around in our pajamas for half the day on Saturday while drinking coffee and watching the kids play so well together (except when Drew ran away and hid with Fletcher's beloved dog).
It's unfortunate that so often we get so caught up in life that we don't take any time to slow down. What a good reminder to us that life is not all about meeting deadlines, having a clean house, or a packed social calendar.
It was also a memorable trip due to the fact that Drew decided to eat two slices of bacon while we were there. For those of you that don't know, our son has been showing vegetarian tendencies...he will eat ONLY fruits and vegetables. This event truly made his father proud.

Raking the Leaves Part II

Here is our second attempt at raking leaves. Our neighbor Jack decided to join in the fun. Needless to say, the leaves are still there.

Halloween!

This year, we met up over at Laura and Brian's house to take pictures before the kids went trick-or-treating. We were so lucky to have such a beautiful day! When we finally did go trick-or-treating, Drew surprised us all--after we rang the doorbell and the man answered the door, he ran right into his house! Daddy had to run in after him. This year we made it to about 5 houses, which is fine with me. We were able to come home, visit a couple neighbors' houses, and then sit outside with pizza to pass out candy and talk with our neighbors.

Fall Festival

Every year in my classroom we have a fall festival. There are crafts, games, and fall themed-snacks. Parents come in to help out and the kids have a great time. Once everything is running smoothly, I have a great time, too.
