It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's a...

BUMBO! Today on my outing to Target, I picked up a Bumbo for Drew. For those of you unfamilar with Bumbos, it's a little seat designed for babies 3-18 months and helps them to sit upright. Drew will be three months at the end of January, so it is still a little early. But, we had to test it out, with support, of course. In one of the pictures, he's trying on a pair of adorable galoshes that Marit sent him! They're still a little big, but sooner than later, he'll be splashing around in the puddles.

Why Didn't I Think of That????

For those of you that know me, know that I am constantly thinking of things to invent. Then I see something that I totally could have invented and I think, "Why didn't I think of that?" This is one of those items. For those of you who don't have little boys, this is referred to as a "PeePee TeePee." I think that says enough. These were courtesy of Aunt Liz, and I have to say, they have come in handy more than once.

Bedtime at the Bramleys

Bedtime at the Bramleys is a battle every night. For some reason, Drew does not like, or should I say hates, going to bed at night. We have tried everything, from swaddling to singing to rocking, but nothing seems to work. One suggestion I have read about is establishing a "bedtime routine." So, tonight we broke out the routine. First, feed. Then, bath. Then, lotion. Next, dress. Finally, story. Of course, it backfired. Drew proceeded to scream, and I mean scream, for 30 minutes. Nothing will stop this child but the boob! And sometimes the swing. So, after calming him down, in the swing he went and he was asleep within seconds. I don't want to rely on "crutches" but sometimes I take the stand of "whatever works."

Drew and his Daddy

When Grant comes home from work, Drew is a happy boy! Tonight, he spent so long looking, cooing, and "talking" to his Daddy. I wonder if he's thinking, "Dad, it's time for a shave!"

The Boy Loves His Hands

Ever since Drew has discovered his hands, they have been in his mouth. After we put Drew down, we can tell if he is sleeping or not by the loud slurping noises coming from the other room. It's a nice change to constantly having to put his pacifier back into his mouth after he spits it out. Although, I'm not sure he really knows that they're attached to his body!

The Vanoers Come to Visit

The family that I spent years babysitting stopped by for a visit today. I started babysitting for them when I was in 7th grade. Eva was 3, Carly 2, and Sam had not yet been born. Since Eva was HOME FROM COLLEGE and Carly was taking a break from APPLYING TO COLLEGES, Deb brought them by to meet Drew. Wow. That makes me feel old.

Our Growing Little Man

Drew is now 10.5 weeks old! It is so hard to believe that time has so quickly gone by. I try to think back to when Drew was just a couple days old, and it is such a blur. It makes me sad to think that I can't remember things, like what his little legs looked like or his new baby cry, but I am beginning to think that we can't remember for a reason--no one would have any more children! Although most moments with Drew are wonderful, motherhood does have its challenges. After the chaos of the holiday season, Drew's schedule was thrown through a loop. He pretty much stopped sleeping and started screaming matches that rivaled any two year old. We have worked hard all week trying to get him back on track, hence the absence of new posts on our blog. Sometimes I just wish he could tell us what he wants!
As of December 28, he weighs 11#8oz. and is 23 inches long. Again, 50 % for both!
